And finally......
Here are some links to other sites which you may find of use:

This is my earlier blog, now discontinued as I shall be blogging here instead.

Click here to go to a full copy of The Insolvency Act 2006, to read the detail of what it says. But be careful, much of insolvency law can be found in other legislation too, such as the Companies Act, various Rules, and, in particular, case law.  The Insolvency Act is not an end in itself.

www.insolvency.gov.uk  This is the Insolvency Service website, the home of the Official Receiver.  Quite a lot of information here, but you have to search out the best bits as it is written in typical Civil Service style, and almost in a style as to put people off going bankrupt!

Piggy Bankrupt  The website of someone who has gone bankrupt, excellent reading.

Bailii: this is a link to British and Irish Legal Information Institute website which contains the decisions on literally hundreds of UK legal cases.  Of great use if you need to research the detail of a particular case, to explore how a particular issue could effect you.

The IVA Protocol : Read the IVA Protocol, including standard IVA terms, that have been agreed by IPs governing bodies with lenders for consumer debtors.

Companies House: Click here to be taken to Companies House brochure on options for dealing with insolvent companies.

Click here to go to the Official Receiver's Technical Manual (it's right near the bottom of the page!).  The Technical Manual is the OR's own internal rule book, setting out how they approach bankruptcies.  Very useful for second guessing how the OR will approach such things as the matrimonial home, Income Payments Agreements/Orders, assets, Discharge etc.  Make sure that you read the manual before going down the bankruptcy route: that way you know what to expect.
